Getting professional therapy is something I’ve had on my list of personal development goals for a long time.

When I finally felt the time was right, which meant being able to afford it and also having had enough of people repeating certain patterns with me, I decided to start looking. I started by searching the hashtag #trinidadtherapist and I found only 2-3: many things on her page seemed to fit for me and I made a world of progress from just the first session.

I could not believe it! I think finding a therapist is truly about finding the right fit and also finding someone who is great at what they do. I think it’s important to note that even though someone may be a notable therapist, even via a recommendation, etc. it’s just as important that they are a good fit for *you*.

I have seen the benefits of therapy in my life in just a few short months (4 to 5 sessions) and I am so proud to have started and that I’ve made it part of my work towards being the best version of myself.
